The Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, met today with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in North Macedonia, Rita Columbia. The main topic of the conversation was the promotion of cooperation between the Ministry of European Affairs and the UN system in order to support the reform processes related to the country's European integration.
Minister Murtezani emphasized the importance of the integrated approach applied by UN agencies in supporting reforms, especially in the context of implementing the National Development Strategy and preparing the new Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2026-2030. He underlined that the UN system in the country is an important ally in the processes of strengthening institutional capacities, addressing social and economic inequalities and implementing green policies in line with the European Green Deal.
Coordinator Colombia confirmed the readiness of the United Nations to continue technical and expert support to the Ministry of European Affairs in the European integration process, emphasizing that progress in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda is closely linked to the country's reform priorities. She welcomed the proactive engagement of the MEP in coordinating donor assistance and in involving international partners in North Macedonia's strategic processes.
