Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani met today with Michela Telatin, Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services – UNOPS in Serbia (Multi-Country Office), at which the long-term successful cooperation within the framework of projects supported by Sweden through the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) was confirmed.
Minister Murtezani expressed satisfaction with the long-term cooperation with UNOPS, especially with the office in Skopje, with which they have been working together for six years to advance the European reform process of North Macedonia. He emphasized that the successful completion of the first phase of the project “Support to North Macedonia’s EU Accession” represents a strong foundation for further activities, and the MEP remains committed to its consistent implementation.
Murtezani and Telatin emphasized that in the past period, continuity of project activities was ensured, that challenges were successfully addressed, and that the necessary expert direction for the process was provided. Additionally, support was highlighted in several key areas, such as the preparation of the National Version of the EU acquis through translation and legal revision, preparation of Guidelines for integrating anti-corruption standards into various chapters of the acquis, strengthening media capacities, organization of events to raise public awareness about the EU integration process and the Reform Agenda 2024-2027, expert support and strengthening administrative capacities.
