First Deputy Prime Minister Bekim Sali Meets Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in Brussels

The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and Minister for European Affairs, Bekim Sali, held a working meeting today in Brussels with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos. The meeting focused on the progress of the country’s European integration process, key reform priorities, and current challenges within the European agenda.

During the discussions, Deputy Prime Minister Sali reaffirmed that membership in the European Union remains a strategic priority of the Government, viewed as a long-term investment in peace, stability, and prosperity across the European continent. He emphasized that the positive momentum created should be leveraged through close and continuous cooperation with European institutions in order to achieve tangible progress in the integration process.

In his capacity as Minister for European Affairs, Chief Negotiator, National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Facility (RGF), as well as NIPAC, Sali underlined his commitment to maintaining the focus of the state administration on EU-related reforms and ensuring continuity in the pace of reforms, in line with European standards and best practices.

In this context, views were exchanged on the implementation of the Growth Plan and the Reform Agenda, as well as on other current issues of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of ongoing coordination and constructive dialogue with the institutions of the European Union.
