Today, at the premises of the Ministry of European Affairs, the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee of the SUPRAE project was held, which was for the first time led by the Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, together with representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia.
The SUPRAE project is one of the more significant active projects in the Ministry of European Affairs. Its main goal is to provide support to North Macedonia in the process of negotiations for full membership in the European Union, as well as to improve the management of EU funds, which are key for the successful integration of the country into the European family.
The project is focused on four main components:
Strengthening strategic planning, reporting and communication.
Establishing a strategic, methodological and operational framework for the accession process.
Improving the programming, use and evaluation of EU funds.
Improving public communication and raising public awareness about the accession process.
All components include activities for organizing training, recruiting new staff, digitalization of certain aspects of the negotiation process and improving the management of EU funds, in order to increase the transparency and understandability of the role of the EU among the general public.
Minister Murtezani emphasized the importance of this project as a significant support not only for the Ministry of European Affairs, but also for all relevant institutions involved in the European integration process. He expressed gratitude for the support that North Macedonia receives through the SUPRAE project for the implementation of reform processes and for strengthening the administrative capacities of the country.
