The Minister for European Affairs and First Deputy Prime Minister, Bekim Sali, held a meeting with the United Nations Resident Coordinator in North Macedonia, Rita Columbia.
The meeting reaffirmed the long-standing and successful cooperation between North Macedonia and the United Nations, as an important partner in supporting the country’s reform priorities and sustainable development. Minister Sali underlined the Government’s commitment to EU integration as a strategic priority, with a focus on the rule of law, public administration reform, the functioning of democratic institutions, and the improved absorption of EU funds.
The interlocutors noted that the priorities of the new UN Cooperation Framework for the period 2026–2030 are fully aligned with the country’s reform agenda and EU accession process, particularly in the areas of social development, sustainable economy, green transition, and good governance.
Minister Sali expressed appreciation for the United Nations’ continued support, especially in critical moments, and underlined the Ministry for European Affairs’ readiness to further strengthen cooperation and coordination of development assistance.
