Skopje, 4 May 2026 – The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs, Mr. Bekim Sali, today marked the official launch of the “May – Month of Europe” campaign, at an event attended by ambassadors of European countries, international partners, and representatives of national institutions.
Through this initiative, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia aims to go beyond the traditional celebration of Europe Day on May 9, transforming the entire month of May into a shared platform for promoting the European integration process and bringing it closer to citizens.
In his remarks, Minister Sali emphasized that the campaign focuses on shifting attention from the technical aspects of accession negotiations to the tangible benefits of European Union membership, including greater opportunities for young people, infrastructure development, and support for local economies.
Throughout May, a series of activities will be organized, featuring success stories from EU-funded projects that are already making a direct impact on improving citizens’ lives.
The campaign is implemented as a whole-of-government priority, in cooperation with civil society, academia, the business community, and cultural institutions, with the aim of making the European integration process more visible and meaningful for all citizens.
