The Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, is on a two-day working visit to Ankara, Turkey. As part of the visit, the Minister met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for European Affairs, Mehmet Kemal Boaza.
The meeting discussed several important topics of mutual interest, such as: the accession process of North Macedonia to the European Union, the Polish presidency of the Council of the EU, the enlargement of the Union with the countries of the Western Balkans, the role of the Berlin Process in strengthening regional cooperation, as well as global challenges affecting stability in the region.
Minister Murtezani emphasized the importance of the partnership with Turkey as a long-standing friend and supporter of North Macedonia in its European integration efforts. It was jointly concluded that the deepening of bilateral relations and regional cooperation are key to the stability and economic development of the Western Balkans. North Macedonia remains committed to strengthening cooperation with all partner countries and to achieving its strategic goal – membership in the European Union.
