Minister Murtezani meets with Polish Minister for EU Affairs, Adam Szlapka, in Warsaw

Minister for European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, met with the Polish Minister for European Affairs, Adam Szlapka, as part of his working visit to Warsaw, Poland. The meeting was held in the spirit of marking the beginning of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The meeting discussed the priorities of the Polish Presidency, with a particular emphasis on strengthening the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries, including North Macedonia. Minister Murtezani highlighted the achievements of North Macedonia in the accession negotiations with the EU to date and stressed the importance of support from the Member States for further advancing the integration process.

Minister Szlapka confirmed Poland’s commitment to actively supporting North Macedonia’s European aspirations, emphasizing that the enlargement of the European Union remains one of the key priorities of the Polish Presidency.

The two ministers agreed that strengthening regional cooperation, economic stability and the implementation of reforms are essential for creating a stable and prosperous region.

Minister Murtezani expressed gratitude for Poland's continued support and emphasized that active dialogue with EU member states is key to the successful implementation of the accession process.

North Macedonia remains committed to its European future, and the Polish presidency represents an opportunity to further strengthen the common goals for a stable, integrated and prosperous Balkans.
