Today, a meeting was held at the Ministry of European Affairs for the coordination of donor assistance, with the participation of representatives from the EU Delegation, diplomatic missions and international partners, with the aim of strengthening cooperation and improving the efficiency of the distribution of donor funds in support of the Reform Agenda and European integration of North Macedonia.
The Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, emphasized that with the transformation of the Secretariat for European Affairs into the Ministry of European Affairs, the institution has received an expanded role. “In addition to the accession process and the coordination of IPA and EU funds, the MEP now also leads the coordination process of the Growth Plan and the Reform Agenda. Given this expansion, it is crucial to improve the organization of coordination mechanisms, to avoid duplication of funds and activities, and to ensure greater efficiency in the use of donor support.” – emphasized MEP Murtezani.
In this regard, the Minister emphasized that existing mechanisms are being improved, such as sectoral working groups, information exchange through the NPAA platform and the reintroduction of presentations of donor strategies. The meeting opened a discussion on improving coordination and more efficient targeting of donor assistance. The Ministry of European Affairs remains committed to strengthening the partnership with donors and creating a sustainable and efficient coordination system.
