First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs, Bekim Sali, addressed the event marking 30 years of relations between North Macedonia and the European Union, in the presence of EU Ambassador Mihalis Rokas.
In his remarks, Minister Sali underlined that EU integration remains the country’s strategic priority, stressing that following the completion of the screening process, the focus is now on accelerating reform delivery.
“Thirty years of partnership and 25 years since the Stabilisation and Association Agreement confirm that our European path is clear and irreversible. Today, integration is not only an objective – it is about delivering concrete results,” said Sali.
He highlighted that through the Reform Agenda and the Growth Plan, the country is already delivering measurable progress in key areas such as rule of law, public administration and economic governance.
The Minister emphasized that a credible enlargement process requires a dual commitment – strong reform delivery by candidate countries and predictability from the European Union.
“Our ambition is clear – full membership in the European Union,” he concluded.
