The EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) is a macro-regional strategy established in 2014. It is one of the four EU macro-regional strategies. The general objective of the EUSAIR is to promote economic and social progress and growth in the Adriatic and Ionian region by improving its attractiveness, competitiveness and connectivity. Given its structure, the Strategy also contributes to the further integration of the Western Balkan countries into the EU.
Macro-regional cooperation as such is an example of multi-level governance and is characterised by the active involvement of numerous stakeholders. This implies the involvement not only of central government stakeholders, but also of representatives of local government, civil society, academia and the business community. It is important to mention that macro-regional organisation is a newer form of cooperation within the European Union, and especially new for our country.
In order to better present this concept, the advantages and benefits of macro-regional organization, and more specifically the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region itself, the Secretariat for European Affairs announces this tender for visibility and communication of the project "EU Support for the Implementation of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region in the Republic of Macedonia"
