Chapter 3.12 Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy includes a collection of policies that are directly aimed at ensuring safe food, from the very beginning of its production, all the way to its consumption, or as the EC slogan says, "safe food from the field to the fork". This Chapter also covers the veterinary and phytosanitary policy, through which the European Union takes care of healthy animals and plants, which are used in everyday food.
