Energetics

Chapter 3.15 Energy covers the following areas: security of supply, internal energy market, state aid, renewable energy, energy efficiency, nuclear energy and nuclear safety and radiation.

 

This area represents a collection of policies aimed at enabling a low-carbon transition, where the focus is on renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency, as well as on reducing greenhouse gases. The EU is a leader in decarbonization through the adoption of the Energy Road Map until 2050, with high targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, that is, the EU will have a climate-neutral economy, which represents the heart of the European Green Agreement, which is based on the Paris Agreement on climate change. The EU is committed to the uninterrupted functioning of the internal energy markets, the complete liberalization of the energy markets, ensuring security in the supply of various types of energy, diversification of energy supply sources.
