EU law in Chapter 3.07 The right to intellectual property defines the rules for the protection of copyright and related rights, industrial property rights and establishes civil provisions for implementation. Directives from this area regulate various aspects of copyright protection policies, such as cross-border transfers of audio-visual materials, data-based protection, conditions for copyright protection and related rights, rental and lending of rights, etc. In the field of industrial property rights, the acquis provides rules for the legal protection of trademarks and designs.
