Statistics

Chapter 3.18 Statistics covers the following areas: statistical infrastructure, classifications and registers and statistics by sector. The activities in this chapter enable the National Statistical System to adequately fulfill the requirements of EU law in statistics. EU rules and policies in this area aim to provide high-quality statistical data in accordance with EU regulations and international recommendations. The European Statistical System is a partnership between the statistical systems of the EU member states, the Statistical Bureau of the European Union (EVROSTAT), the statistical systems of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The European Statistical System also coordinates its work with candidate countries and at the European level with other service activities, agencies of the Commission, the European Bank and international organizations such as the OECD, ON, the IMF and the World Bank.
