The key EU policies in Chapter 3.20 Enterprise and industrial policy are the creation of a competitive economy i.e. contributing to a functioning market economy. Key European documents followed under the chapter are communications related to industrial policy, SME development, innovation and sectoral policies. The chapter monitors the existence of economic policies that are focused and, in the long-term, contribute to supporting the competitiveness and development of the private sector, improving the business and investment climate, regulatory reform, having a functional dialogue with the business community in policy development and implementation and existing institutional set-up.
