Chapter 3.12 Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy covers a set of policies that are directly aimed at ensuring food safety, from the very beginnings of production to its consumption or as the EC slogan goes "Farm to Fork". This Chapter also covers the veterinary and phytosanitary policies through which the European Union safeguards the health of animals and plants used in everyday diet.
