Intellectual property law

EU acquis in Chapter 3.07 Intellectual property law sets out the rules for the protection of copyright and related rights, industrial property rights and lays down civil enforcement provisions. The directives in this area regulate various aspects of copyright protection policies such as cross-border transfers of audio-visual materials, protection of databases, conditions for protection of copyright and related rights, rental and lending rights, etc. In the field of industrial property rights, the acquis sets out harmonised rules for the legal protection of trademarks and designs.
