“From the preparation of the Progress Report to the adoption of the Council Conclusion: The annual cycle of the EU Enlargement Package from a Member State’s“ is the topic of the Hungarian expert’s presentation, Mr. Zalai Csaba at the Secretariat for European Affairs.

The State Secretary, Ms. Ana Blazheska had introductory speech to the attendants and highlighted the importance of this particular time period in the overall process.

In the first part of the presentation, Mr. Csaba focused on the process of the preparation and adoption of the Enlargement Package (Progress Reports and the Strategy Paper) of the European Commission, with a highlight on its various stages, on the role of the relevant institutions and the impact of the enlargement and candidate countries.

In the second part of the presentation, the Hungarian expert focused on the preparation and adoption of the Council Conclusions on EU Enlargement and Stabilisation and Association Process, thus the decision-taking in the various preparatory bodies of the Council of the European Council.

This presentation was organised while expecting the Progress Report for the Republic of Macedonia within the Memorandum of cooperation between the Ministries for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Hungary on expert advisory support for promotion of the European integration of the country.
