Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia for European Affairs Dr. Fatmir Besimi, today signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with six universities in the Republic of Macedonia.
The Memorandum was signed by the Rector of the "St. Cyril and Methodius "-University, prof. Dr. Velimir Stojkovski, Rector of “South East Europe”-University, prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, Rector of the “State University” in Tetovo, prof. Dr. Vulnet Ahmeti, Rector of ”Ss.Kliment Ohridski”University - Bitola, prof. Dr. Zlatko Zoglev, Pro-Rector of “Ss . Apostle Paul”- University -Ohrid, prof. Dr.Ivan Bimbilovski and Pro-Rector of “Goce Delchev” -University Stip, prof.Dr. Emilia Janevikj Ivanovska .
This memorandum was signed in order to strenghten the cooperation between the Secretariat for European Affairs and universities in the country and the same one predicts the preparation of joint research projects, debates, lectures and joint application for their financing in the country and abroad.
Deputy Prime Minister Besimi stressed that the internships for students in the Secretariat within the educational programs that will be conducted in the field of European integration is planned. The first call for volunteering will be open for all interested students.
Among other things, the Memorandum will provide scholarships for civil servants for masters degree in European Studies in Macedonia and abroad, and EU info Corners of universities respectively in the departments that implement studies related to the process of European integration will be opened.
Rectors who had signed the Memorandum expressed satisfaction with this initiative and welcomed the move of strenghtening the cooperation between the Secretariat for European Affairs and universities. According to them, the youth will have excellent opportunities to meet and to be well informed about the integration process of the country , and will have the possibility for post graduate studies in the country and abroad .
