The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia responsible for European affairs, Mr. Fatmir Besimi, today held a working meeting with the Energy Community Director, Mr. Janez Kopač, accompanied with his delegation, is currently paying a regional visit to the countries-signatories of the Treaty establishing Energy Community.

The obligations that the Republic of Macedonia has undertaken with signing of the Treaty establishing Energy Community were discussed at the meeting.

At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views regarding the implementation of the Second Energy Package of the European Union, as well as the plans for transposition of the Third Energy Package in the light of approximation of the national legislation with the legislation of the European Union.

The Deputy Prime Minister Besimi made a commitment to further promote the cooperation with the Energy Community and to fulfil the remaining obligations that arise from the membership of the Republic of Macedonia into this organization.
