Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government responsible for European Affairs, Dr. Fatmir Besimi met the new UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the Republic of Macedonia, Mrs. Louisa Vinton.
The Deputy Prime Minister Besimi congratulated Mrs. Vinton and wished her success regarding her new function.
The initiatives of the Secretariat for European Affairs, the activities that are conducted within the European Agenda, as well as the IPA coordinating meetings regarding the IPA 2007-2013, together with the new programme period for IPA 2014-2020 were discussed at the meeting.
Mrs. Vinton informed about the areas where the United Nations and the UNDP collaborate with the Republic of Macedonia and briefly informed about her priorities during her terms of office.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed on the future mutual coordination and realization of working meetings for the achievement of the common aims in areas such as employment, environment, youth and other areas of mutual interest.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Besimi, today had an address at the eighth conference of the Parliamentary Committees on European Affairs of the countries involved in the stabilization and association process of the South East Europe - COSAP, held in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
