Today, at the premises of the Secretariat for European Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister Besimi, within the already established regular communication with civil society organisations, held a work meeting focusing on the European Commission Report for the Progress of the Republic of Macedonia for 2013, as well as the next steps which the Secretariat for European Affairs will undertake for defining the Action Plan and preparation of the National Programme for Adoption of the Acquis communautaire - NPAA for 2014.
During the discussion, he emphasized that "The process of European integration is an inclusive process which requires involvement of all the actors that can contribute towards strengthening the public visibility and may represent an impetus to the process. Having an open, transparent and inclusive approach can only help us in our ultimate goal for sooner membership in the European Union".
The civil society sector has a crucial role in building a developed democratic state, thus the Secretariat for European Affairs is at your disposal regarding any ideas or suggestions that can contribute to the process of European integration - he emphasized.
A number of positive and negative criticisms and ideas were initiated at the meeting, out of which, in future concrete steps might arise.
At the end, it was emphasized that there is hope for continuation of the cooperation, as well as the possibility that the Secretariat for European Affairs offers to the civil society organisations in terms of free usage of the "Conference Room" of the institution for organizing conferences and debates of public interest.
