Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia responsible for European Affairs, Dr. Fatmir Besimi, held a work meeting with Ms. Doris Pack, member of the European Parliament, who is staying in the Republic of Macedonia at the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
At the meeting, the efforts of the Republic of Macedonia for timely completion of the reforms and the country’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures, for which the support of both the Republic of Germany and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation was reaffirmed, were discussed.
The topics that were the subject of discussion were the reforms undertaken in the Republic of Macedonia, good-neighbourly and inter-ethnic relations, concerning which Ms. Pack stated that the promotion of such European values would bring Europe to Macedonia.
Deputy Prime Minister Besimi emphasised that the Republic of Macedonia had accepted the recommendation of the European Commission for opening accession negotiations as an indication that Macedonia remains on the enlargement agenda of the European Union and informed that what remains to be done is the commitment for complying with the recommendations arising from the EC Report.
