„Judicial reform and rule of law are important segments of the reform process in our country. They are one of the most complex areas of EU law, and in the process of membership negotiations they are evaluated as the core element of the negotiations” said Besimi in his address.
In that direction, Besimi emphasized, last year Republic of Macedonia implemented significant reforms in the judicial system through the activities defined with the High Level Accession Dialogue, like the establishment of protection measures, decrease of court backlog as well as strengthening the financial independence of the courts.
Still, having in mind that the judicial reform is a continuous activity, the competent institutions continue addressing the recommendations for further reforms in the judicial system in accordance with the Progress Report of the European Commission for Macedonia 2012.
