Skopje, 21 December 2015 (MIA) - Tempo of activities over Macedonia's future reform priorities in the EU pre-accession dialogue in the field of public administration and media are in the focus of Monday's meeting among representatives of competent institutions.
Vice Premier for European Affairs Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Information Society and Administration Marta Asrovska Tomovska, heads of the Administration Agency, State Administrative Inspectorate, Agency for Media and Audiovisual Media Services, public broadcasting service analyse the prior and future reforms.
"The European Commission Progress Report and the Priebe recommendations require rigorous implementation of a new legal framework in the sector of public administration", said Minister Arsovska-Tomovska.
She added that competent institutions are focused on implementing regulations that would secure employment according to the merit principle, assessment of performances by employees and further enhancement through observance of professional standards.
The meeting tackles the upgrade of the Administration Agency into a center for selection of job candidates, the extraordinary inspection control in 1,300 public institutions, the necessity for acts on job systematization in all institutions, along with the single human resource management system.
"This system will be a so-called public sector register, including data of employees, but also institutions and their setup, salaries, transfer list for measurement of effects", added Arsovska-Tomovska.
Regarding media reforms, the meeting discusses the enhancement of capacities in the public broadcasting service, the necessity to adopt a code of professional standards, manner of financing etc. Talks also include activities of the Agency for Media and Audiovisual Media Services over the ban for paid political advertising, which entered into force on Sunday.
"These activities will continue, because the EU report will return to the expected progress in these areas following next year's elections", said Vice Premier Besimi.
According to him, meetings will also be held with the ministries of interior and justice, as well as other competent institutions, in the coming days.
"The goal is to monitor the tempo of reforms, which is part of the recommendation over implementation of the deal on ending the political crisis in the country", stressed Besimi. i
