The Stabilisation and Association Committee between the Republic of Macedonia and the European Union has held its 11-th working meeting on 11 of June 2014 in Skopje. The meeting has been chaired by Mr. Jovan Andonovski, State Secretary of the Secretariat for European Affairs, for our part and Alexandra Cas Granje, Director of the EC Directorate General for Enlargement, for the part of the European Commission.
The meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Committee has completed the cycle of ten sectoral sub-committees within the Stabilisation and Association Process, as of November 2013. The achievements from the Committee meeting held will be presented within the Stabilisation and Association Council, which will be held on July 23, 2014.
The Stabilisation and Association Committee has reviewed the degree of fulfillment of the political criteria in the past period, the degree of implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the level of implementation and realisation of the reforms. Also, on this meeting has been presented and discussed the latest political and economic progress of the Republic of Macedonia. The meeting has been held on time and has been a useful preparation for the upcoming SA Council.
The Stabilisation and Association Committee and its subsidiary bodies have helped the European Commission to give an assessment of the progress that Macedonia has achieved in order to meet the criteria for membership and the correctness of the implementation of the contractual commitments undertaken within the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
