COMPETITION FOR AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS
“GABRIELA KONEVSKA TRAJKOVSKA“
for post graduate studies abroad in the areas of EU law, economy and policy for the academic year 2010/2011
The Secretariat for European Affairs and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, eight consecutive years awards scholarships for post graduate studies abroad in the areas of EU law, economy and policy. The main aim of this activity consisting of providing funds for selecting and sending young people for further specialisation in the filed of EU and European integration is capacity building and strengthening the professional skills of the civil servants engaged in the process of EU accession, as well as recruiting new employees skilled for active participation in the EU accession.
Who can apply?
The scholarships are designated for future students / scholarship candidates, which are already enrolled at some higher education institution abroad on an appropriate post graduate programme in the area of EU. Postgraduate studies in the area of EU are postgraduate studies in the area of EU law, economy and policy (especially in the field of agriculture and related issues: common agricultural policy (CAP), food safety, veterinary policy, phytosanitary policy and rural development). Priority will be granted to candidates that did not secure funds for the studies on any other ground.
Conditions for awarding scholarships
On the web page there is an overview of certain number of higher education institutions in Europe, offering postgraduate studies in the area of EU. This is just an indicative, non-exhasuteive overview and does not limit interested candidates to apply solely to the universities included in this overview.
Applying for scholarships
The competition for awarding scholarships is published in the daily newspapers as well as on the web page of SEAwww.sep.gov.mk/stipendii
Within the period from 08.06-07.07.2010, the interested candidates can apply for this scholarship by submitting the necessary documents via electronic mail on the following e-mail stipendii@sep.gov.mk or via post on the following address and designation:

or they can submit the documents in person in closed envelope in the Archive of the Secretariat for European Affairs in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
Next steps
The selection of the candidates is preformed by a Commission consisting of representatives from the line ministries and institutions of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. After the selection form the applications/ requests for awarding scholarships for support of postgraduate studies for EU/EI, draft list of candidates is forwarded to the Government of the Republic of Macedonia that makes the final decision.
The selected candidates will sign a contract with the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia with commitment to graduate in the agreed period and to work in public administration in the period of minimum three years, after the finalisation of their postgraduate studies.
