Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European affairs, Bojan Maricik, today had a meeting with the UNDP resident representative in North Macedonia, Armen Grigoryan.
Maricik and Grigoryan discussed the course of the accession process, as well as the European reforms that the Government is implementing, and in that context they emphasized that the cooperation with the UN is an excellent example of inclusive donor support that takes into account all relevant stakeholders such as national and local authorities, civil society organizations, donors, the private sector, the media, in the planning process, as well as in the process of implementation of the support.
At the meeting, Grigoryan indicated that the UN's priorities for North Macedonia according to the UN Development Assistance Framework 2021-2025 are sustainable and inclusive economic and social development, climate action, natural resources and disaster risk management, transparent and responsible democratic governance, which are fully in line with national priorities for development and full membership in the EU.
They also exchanged opinions about the need for support from the UNDP for the implementation of reform projects and other opportunities for intensifying cooperation.
UNDP has implemented over 200 projects since the independence of the country, which are worth over 66 million euros, financed or co-financed together with other donors, thus making a significant contribution to the development of North Macedonia.
